Position

How Volls works in investment

Volls invests as an owner-operator, not as a fund. Capital is the group's own, the horizon is long, and the test applied to every opportunity is whether the group can contribute something beyond money — engineering, procurement reach, execution capability or market access.

In practice that means concentrating on sectors and jurisdictions we already operate in, taking positions we can influence, and structuring joint ventures where a partner brings what we do not have.

  • Direct holdings in operating companies within the group's sectors
  • Joint ventures with partners who add capability, such as the VDBC JV EPC+F partnership with Vanguard
  • Project capital committed alongside the group's own delivery scope
  • Buy-and-build in technology and industrial services across our jurisdictions

Approach

From first conversation to long-term responsibility.

  1. Screen

Sector fit, jurisdiction and counterparty standing are tested first. We decline quickly where the group adds nothing but capital.

  2. Diligence

Commercial, technical and compliance review, using the group's own engineering and in-country knowledge.

  3. Structure

Ownership, governance and funding are structured so the holding can direct the asset, not merely observe it.

  4. Operate and hold

Value is created through operational involvement over a long horizon, not through a scheduled exit.
